Several reviews have reported that these calls violate the Do Not Call Register. This is illegal under Australian Law

If you do not pick up the first time, they may attempt to call again... even if you have blocked the original number.

Like many scams, they may attempt to call you at 6pm or later, whilst you are trying to unwind after work.

Several reviews have reported these callers as aggressive, pressuring you for information and to 'join' their 'company'.

Alternatively, they may say nothing, or some barely audible noise in the background. This is to encourage you to fill the silence.

Even if the person on the call appears civil, it may be a tactic to keep you on the phone as long as possible.

This 'company' goes by more names than just 'Finway Energy'. They also call themselves 'Green Energy Solar' (not to be confused with Green Energy Solutions or Green Solar Energy, both legitimate companies... apparently this is a favourite tactic), or simply 'the solar program' and refuse to elaborate.

Most reviews reported no voicemail being left after a non-answer. However, some have reported voicemails filled with silence or disturbing bangs.

If you call these numbers back (which we do not recommend), you are likely to be met with an artificial voice identifying them as 'Finway Energy'.

It's always wise to ask questions when answering a suspicious call. A scam is relying on you falling for their tricks before you can think about it. If you show signs of calling their legitimacy into question, they are likely to hang up immediately. Stay vigilant.
